Step 7: humility in action

A quick daily log: the shortcoming that showed up, whether you asked for help, the opposite you practiced, and how it went.

Why this helps

Humility isn't thinking less of yourself — it's seeing yourself accurately, strengths and limits, and asking for help with what you can't change alone. In Step 7, change comes through practice: each time you catch an old pattern and try the opposite, it loses a little of its grip. A log shows progress you'd otherwise miss.

Step work is best done with a sponsor or mentor. This is a private place to prepare — share it with them when you're ready.

1. The shortcoming that showed up

Impatience, dishonesty, self-pity…

2. Where and how it showed up

3. Did I ask for help letting it go?

  • Yes
  • Not this time

4. The opposite I practiced — or will next time

Patience, honesty, gratitude…

5. How it went

6. How much of a grip it had on me

0 = Hardly any01234567891010 = It ran the show

7. What I noticed about myself — a strength, or a limit I accepted
