Why this helps

People who support your recovery are one of the strongest predictors of staying well. In one study (Litt and colleagues), adding just one non-drinking person to someone's circle was linked with a 27% higher chance of staying sober over the next year.

Names and phone numbers are fine here — your answers stay private unless you choose to share them.

1. People I could call at 2 a.m. (name and number)

2. People who help with practical things — rides, childcare, a meal, a place to stay

3. Recovery people — sponsor, mentor, peer, counselor, group

4. Places where I feel I belong (meetings, church, gym, class, team)

5. Where my support feels thin

Check any that apply

  • No one to call in a crisis
  • Few friends who don't drink, use or bet
  • No one to talk with about feelings
  • Not enough fun or social time
  • No practical help (rides, money, childcare)
  • Family relationships are strained
  • No professional support right now

6. Anyone who drains my recovery right now — and how I'll protect myself

7. One person I'll reach out to this week

8. What I'll ask them for, or say
